New York Strip Steaks....
So.
I'm planning how best to spend my federal tax check.
I desperately need new summer shoes for Emily ('02 MCS, Chili Red w/ Black Hat), and was just thinking of having the 17" S-Lites cleaned up (curb rash) and powder-coated, either black or gun-metal. I don't track the car, so I'm not really concerned about the weight of the wheels, and I think the S-Lites are about the best looking rim for our cars. Goodyear Eagle GS-D3s are probably the tire I'll go with.
Does anyone have any pictures of S-Lites in black or charcoal?
Thanks, and have a day!

The wheels in my gallery were painted satin black (VHT Polyeurethane Wheel Finish). They held up well for the time that I used them (a few months). I know alot of people choose to powder coat vs. paint for durability, though. I painted these wheels because I was planning to do it myself and really didn't want to invest alot of money into the wheels....and I didn't want to have to remove and remount the tires that were already on the rims.
If you are planning to use the wheels as you primary wheels, then you probably ought to invest in the powder coating.......although, many people here on the forum have painted theirs and have had good luck with durability. It's really not hard to do (even the curb rash repair)....just take your time and you will get good results.
btw, if you do paint, I recommend the VHT paint....I tried the Duplicolor twice and got horrible results. I ended up sanding them all down again and starting over. The VHT paint came out flawless....and I think it's probably more durable than just regular wheel paint.
Good luck.
