What is the foam panel filter for?

Hi everyone, i bought the JCW intake and would like to know if i have to buy the foam panel filter too,or with the stock one is ok, per example, the alta one, what is this for?

the foam panel filters are replacements for the stock paper filter for the stock intake. If you bought a JCW intake, it should come with a new filter for that intake.
