Front Brakes

Two questions for the forum, sorry if asked b4, i searched some and couldn't find answers.
1. Is there any problem with just doing a front brake job if the rears still have 40% left?
2.i am thinking of TSW slotted rotors and either akebono or hawk ceramics.
any opinion on either the rotor choice or pad choice?
thanks in advance

It's perfectly ok to do only the front pads. But note, that if you change the pad or rotor type, you will start to mess with the brake bias that could upset the balance of the car.

Ive never noticed a diffrence with brake pad types.
Ive even driven a car with vastly diffrent front brakes and the car seemed even better.
In fact ive noticed the car is less squirmy under braking with more pad in the caliper then when they are worn low.

Yes it's fine to do just the front brakes.

As for rotors I've used alot of the Freemax (TSW) rotors http://www.waymotorworks.com/product...cat=286&page=2
They work really well and last.

For pads there are alot of choices from EBC, Hawk, or Carbotech.

It will really depend on what you are going to use the car for

HUH?? Come on now, how many us can really tell tiny slight change in bias. It's not he's out at the track looking for that last 100th. You think if that was a real issue the 1000's of people that we have seen on this site that have used non OEM Rotors and Pads would all be quiet about it?

Even us track junkies report very little bias change when using some adding some pretty massive stopping power to the car. I swap track to street pads often. Sure can feel a difference in way they work, but not in a front to rear bias.

To the OP, lots of people are very happy with the TSW rotors, the hard part is picking a pad to go along with your style of driving.

To Gnatser and Way,
and all others thanks for the help...........
The car is a daily driver,
no CAI or pulley yet, was working on suspension, wheels , now brakes , then horsepower.
A run or two a month with my club on backroads.
Need brakes and an upgrade ( not overkill ) seemed like a good idea,
thanks
