Not much action in the R53 Drivetrain forum.
I was wondering why I haven't seen much going on in the R53 drivetrain forum. Has everyone moved on to another site or is there nothing new and exciting? Bad economy? I miss those discussions between all of the great minds we have on this community.
I think it's a combination of things, and more than likely the main culprit is the economy. Plus, it's "Christmas" time. I think a lot of people this year will be taking more time with their families and friends. It'll probably pick back up soon.
I'd agree. The economy blows. The other thing is, I haven't seen much new any exciting lately. RMW seems to be the only company that's continuing to progress right now. But with their website so limited, and their location 2000 miles away from me, I can't even look into all that too much. Hopefully it will pick up again soon. Also I feel like there's a disproportionate amount of products coming out for the R56. There has to be more stuff that can be made for our cars, I hope somebody gets on it lol.
Why would most companies bother doing dev work on R53's now. The number of them shrinks every day making for a smaller and smaller market. Those in the playing field are better served for the most part putting dev $'s to the R56. There are some things coming online but fewer people have the bucks to by them.
The price of used R53 is going to have to come down more to the point that teenagers can afford them to really see more in this area. Once they reach the same price as Honda and VW's I think and more younger people snap them up then I think we'll see, so long as the economy is also better, an uptick in R53 dev again.
Thats just my opinion...
2 cents submitted at the door...

Yeah, the economy blows right now. That's why I think a lot of people are just trying an old fashioned approach to the holidays this year. Spend more quality time with family. As far as companies are concerned, there's so much out there for the R53, it's just so darned expensive.
By the way, does RMW still do tuning sessions? I won't be back in the states until mid Feb. next year. I would love to get a tune.
