... the factory driving lights that mount on the upper grille? I eventually want to get a factory driving light kit, but was wondering where do the switch for activating these go? I aleeady know it's not in the center console switch bank, but somwere under the steering wheel/column area. I am suspecting also that on the "euro parcel tray" the little rectangle blank-switch space towards the upper left might be for that.

yep

by ur left knee

dunno about the shelf kit but on standard setup u pull the panel off, behind is where you'll stick the factory control box, and you'll find a place to cut out for the switch to mount.

check MiniMania.com - they had the full factory install pages there at one time. if you buy from a dealer you must ask for the instructions typically, they are not in the box.

for what it's worth (2 cents?) I've installed several sets of factory lights for folks and ruffly the same number of 'others' PIAA and HELLA mostly. The factory kit is a bit of a PIA wiring wise if you follow the instructions to the letter. Other kits can come out just as good and the wiring can b a bit easier.

Nicer, easier and cheaper than OEM...

It would have been nice if the install location was in the 1 empty toggle switch location I have.
