Looking for the possible Issues

Hello,

Potential MCS owner here! I have my eye on a 2006. What are the things that I should be looking for, Issues. This auto has about 20.000 mi on it. Thanks in advance !

Beyond my '05 I couldn't tell you specific issues but I can say that the '05s and beyond are pretty reliable. Only 20,000 miles on the '06 is pretty low. I wonder who was driving it and why are they getting rid of it? Try to get a vehicle history report.

You got the best year of the model run. Things to watch for: Small amounts of coolant leaks, center right under engine under car: thermostat housing can spring a leak. It was easily replaced under warranty. Also, right side motor mount can suddenly leak. This was also replaced under warranty. Both are known issues. My JCW engine has been solid. Car great in snow with a good set of snow tires. I blow suv's away at stop lights in the snow. You will love it.

+1 with Maxx...an '06 MCS is most likely a keeper.

Many folks find this reference to be useful in making 1st Gen comparisons:

Happy motoring to you!

Does it have any mods? If so do you know what and who installed them? I don't recommend modded MINI's unless you know who did the work and how it was driven. IMHO.

We have just started our search. Our aim was to get a used MCS w/ as many options as possible. We wanted to get a Navy Blue without a contrasting roof, no stripes and w/ Tan leather interior. The misses wants something as close to a Rolls as she can get. As a matter of fact, we were told that years ago when you bought a Rolls, a Mini was thrown in. For the Butler!
The one we found has everything we would like except the tan interior and was told that they are very rare that way.
