hi, i just installed the illuminated door sills, looks nice, but has weird sound.

but when both doors are closed... there's a humming sound.

Does any of one have this? I did a search.. but can't up with nothing..

I have a 06 R53 S... i installed it myself and pretty sure i did it correctly...

if anyone of you with illuminated sills are in the SOCAL area.. let me know.. i want to take a look at it to see if you have the same sound...

 

So you no longer have a MINI? You just got a Hummer?

The humming sound is coming from the voltage converter that drives the strips.
Did you wrap it in foam like the destructions said to?
Maybe its hard against the body and the sound is amplified.

 

yeah, i did wrap it in the foam.. but the sound is really loud.
i guess i will wrap it more in heat clothes or something...

just want to make sure the humming is normal.....
