R50/53 Just turned 90k !!!!!!!
Just turned 90k !!!!!!!
Over the weekend my 05 R50 turned 90,000 miles....and the buggy runs awesome....I have had a few vehicles that tend to change when they reach the 90k to 100k mile marker. This car is solid, runs great and still gets ~ 38mpg.
To further maintain the car I was thinking about changing out the manual transmission fluid along with the coolant. What else should I think about changing?
What type of manual transmission fluid is recommended?
I change the oil every 10k miles with Royal Purple 5W-30 oil along with a new oil filter.
To date I have changed the sparkplugs, plug wires, K&N Air filter, and the cabin air filter.
One item I can think of is the serpentine belt, that I would leave to a mechanic, does anyone know of a good local mechanic or should I schedule an appointment at the MINI dealership?
What would the ballpark cost of having the MINI dealership replace the serpentine belt?
Look forward to your comments....
Mark
