Torx wrench for OEM roof rack

Okay, so I don't have the wrench for the OEM roof rack that came on my car (original owner didn't have it) and am looking at optionsas I'd like to remove it for now. From what I can tell, if I were to order it from the dealer, it would be #4 in this list?

If so, probably not gonna happen, they want $21 for it which I think is a little high for something I'm not going to use often. From what I've read, this is basically a T30 torx tamper proof security wrench, correct? If so, I may just order one online and be done with it since multi-wrench sets seem to be less than what the dealer wants for one. Just wanted to make sure I'm looking for the right thing before buying

Advance Auto Parts has the T30 Torx adapter, and I would assume NAPA does too.

Yeah , check with your local ACE or other hardware store. I bought a T50 just today for my oil pan and paid under 2.50. You can also find it with the attached adaptor for use with a ratchett. The Home Depot wants to sell the torx in a kit which is a waste in your case.

Cool, I'll check those places out. My main concern is that I've seen a couple of posts indicating that I'll need one of the torx security wrenches vs a normal torx wrench and I'd like to verify if that's the case or not.

Thanks!

Yes a torx security version is what you need. Advance has a multi size version for $12

I have an oem one that I don't need anymore if you would like it for $10 shipped

Stopped on the way home and picked up the one you mentioned at Advance, and it seems to fit fine, so I think I'm set, but thanks a bunch for the offer on the OEM one!
