HK audio troubleshooting-
I have an '03 MCS with HK sound. The head unit seems to be working and the FM transmitter for the Ipod seems to work. However, there is no audio through any of the speakers. I suspect something is disconnected, but am not sure where to check. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My 03 MCS exhibited the same symptoms about a year ago. It seemed the amplifier was bad. Price from BMW was over $700 for the amp. I installed an Alpine system for approx $1000. I was uncertain at the time that it was only the amp at fault and did not want to spend $700 to see if that fixed the problem. The Alpine system is a cut above the HK unit.
