Strange lighting problem occuring to left side of my car only?
2006 MCS
Hi. Well to basically sum up my problem, read the subject.. But about a month or two ago I started noticing that my the drive side left turn signals (in my headlights [after market ebay halo lights]), side repeater, and rear signal would just stop working all together and not turn on. The funny thing is though, is that it would stay like this for a couple days, and when I come back to my car the car will work perfectly.. all lights functioning 100%. I checked the bulbs in every position and even did a bulb swap to make sure there were no defective bulbs. I tried checking the fuse, but couldn't find out which one led to the left signals? Funny part is the the only left signal working on the car is the one in my bumper, so I suppose all on the driver side of my car do not work except that one when I do have this problem. And when the blinker in the bumper blinks, it does it at a much faster rate, as if it's getting all the power from the other sources and in hyper mode lol.
Logic would assume this is a wiring problem but I checked all the connections I could (obviously not the unreachable ones that I have no idea about) and the wiring for my aftermarket lights is all a-okay and has been for a very long time up until this point. I am always one to say that things don't just happen "on their own" but I truly did not mess with anything and this has happened on its own.
I also have another theory.. In the headlight on this side of the car, I have been accumulating some moisture after a rain shower or car wash.. maybe enough built up to short it out? Hmm. possible, but why would the lights just start working again out of nowhere as if the problem was never there? Thanks in advance for reading/replies.

LOL probably. I got an email back from my service guy, whom I also sent this to, and he seems to think my theory on the moisture build up is possibly the answer.. I'd still like to hear from other users, though. I don't understand why they would still work and come back on later.. thats the strangest part.
Some extra info..
The headlights themselves were plug and play, including the halos in the actual headlights. The halos are self tapped into the main beams so they go on when the main beams go on.. The only work besides simply putting them into the bonnet and screwing in some nuts were tapping the extra integrated turn signal that is not a standard feature in the 06 and headlights... they tried making them more like the 07> style headlights. Anyway, those were wired to the side repeaters. so whenever they were turned on, so were the "new" ones in the headlights. The OTHER halos in the bumper (that are not a part of the 07 and on models, as you know..) work completely fine and seem to be independent of the other light(s). But, as I said, that blinker starts to blink a lot faster when the others do not.. This is also evident from the cockpit of the car, as it even blinks faster on my speedometer. Just don't wanna confuse you, there are two sets of halos on the front of my car. In the bumper/main turn signals.. and in the headlights themselves.. which are working fine.
And if any of that is confusing here's a little clarification (sorry I typed that fast)
The headlights are aftermarket.. If this problem is coming from anywhere, it's from the extra turn signal in the headlight. The headlight installation was plug and play, besides the wire tapping for the extra signal, is what I meant...

Well, a short answer (but not the answer): With most electrical problems, it's rarely the wiring; at least not the parts you've never touched. Assume the problem lies in the connections -where you made them to install your mods. A fast blinker can be a sign of a high current draw, flasher units are usually thermal and a high current draw can make them heat up quickly and break the connection. Result: fast blinking.
The moisture theory is reasonably good. It could be causing a partial short to ground, which would cause a high current drain. A spritz of WD40 on each of the connections will remove the water (that's what it was originally designed to do) and if that cures it, fix the source of the problem. Seal the connections, stop the water from getting to them, whatever.
