Global Imports of Atlanta is charging $595 for dealer prep. This amount includes carpet or rubber mats, wheel locks, and other miscellaneous (though non-material) items (like detailing).

Additionally, the GI doc fee is $399.

Just a quick couple of questions...

Anyone out there buy from GI and get out of these fees? I understand doc fee, though high, is something I'll probably have to eat, but this prep fee seems very silly.

Anyone negotiate some dealer options in place of the prep fee? I would like the ClearBra eventually and GI quoted that for $525 (this was in total for the bonnet, headlights, bumper, and front fogs; basically the whole front end). This seems reasonable and I would gladly pay this instead of a "dealer prep."

If you buy an MC off the floor they might negotiate on the prep fee but not for a MCS. Tha's what I was told at any rate. That aside, I purchased a 2003 MCS from Global in June, received first of August. Overall the experience was good and my MCS has no stumble. rattles, leaks, etc.

Best,
WPS
