R50/53 $$$ is no object--what would you trade your MINI for?

>>Ryan, the Mercedes SLR McLaren is a limited production 580 hp 5.4 liter supercharged V-8 coupe, 0 to 60 in 3.7 second. Only about 150 per year into the US and it won’t be available until early next year and will retail for approximately $350,000. I looked at the CLK55 AMG coupe but it didn’t do much for me. I have never cared for cabriolets or roadsters, so the SL55 AMG is out. You have an open invitation to come on down to Julian (up to Julian, 4,200 feet) and take my ’04 M3 with SMG for a spin when I get it the end of October, just give me some time to get it nice and broken in. I debated about getting one of the last E39 M5’s, but I had had one in 2001 and wanted something different so I went with the E46 M3. My plan now is to get one of the new V-10 500 hp M5’s in a couple of years after they have been out at least a year. I am already on my dealers list for one. And being lucky and well off is much better then being good and famous!

ur right jerry, the clk 55 doesnt do anything for me, but the sl55 is a sight to see. had i not loved rowing my own gears in a new m5, i would really spring for the e55 amg.
omtoast--i knew you were a woman.
everybody has thier own taste, but i would sell my soul/dignity/mini for a ferrari any day, and you guys can leave me the maintenance headache to me

If I won Lotto I'd want several cars. I'd keep my Mini and try...
M3
Jaguar XKR sports coupe, or one of the older classic Jags with the Chevy engine switch.
Would love the try the Ferrari F1 355 spyder because it has the paddle shifter and ability to switch to AT at the press of a button.
Would also love to try a Mercedes AMG.

$$$ is no object right?
Then I pick Bugatti-for obvious reasons. POWER.
A worthy successor to the elegant and powerful Bugattis of the past, the Veyron 16·4 is powered by a 1001-horsepower W16 quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter engine with all-wheel drive. Bugatti claims this new super car will reach a speed of 252 mph. Acceleration is also impressive–the Veyron can reach 180 mph in just 14 seconds!

>>V-16 Sarao Jeepney, all stainless construction, complete with peanut vendor and 16 die-cast horses on the bonnet.
>>
If I was rich I'd import a jeepney and drive it around here!
My uncle makes them in the philippines so I might do that someday
If you guys dont know what a jeepney is do a google search, I'm too lazy to find a site about them right now.

Tricky question, tough choices!
For me, it would have to be a small and fun car, with at least reasonable mileage.
Absolutely no SUV or truck. Highway mileage of at the very least 30 mpg.
If it were available I would get a MINI One D. Oh, you said no MINI, bimmer, I mean, bummer.
Until a short time ago I would have said the Bimmer C330-D, but it's also not available in the US, and I'm still ticked off at BMW over the whole MCO domain name issue and don't want to buy a BMW.
Subaru WRX would be cool but doesn't get the mileage.
Probably a Lotus Elise! Another car I'd consider if it was available here would be the Golf D150.
Ok, I'll just go with the Elise.

Hum...this is a hard one! I love old classic cars so I would have several of those - along with the 58 MGA we have now...
As for something new, maybe the S4 or some type of Jag - rag top of course....
Chow!

Really not too many other vehicles:
1956 Jaguar D-Type (Longnose)
1957 Maserati 250
1965 AC Cobra 427 S/C
1969 Lamborghini Miura S
1976 Lancia Stratos
1994 Ferrari F-40
1997 Lotus Elise
2003 Aston Martin Vanquish

I wouldn't trade me Mini. Why would I? If money were not an object, I'd keep my Mini, but I'd got out and buy a 427 Cobra sideoiler (a well-built replicar, not an original)... they'd get along well together.
$$$ no object
If money were not a factor..... I assume that would also mean for all operating cost as well.
How about the new Bentley Continental GT as shown in the current issue of Autoweek.
Metallic White over pink leather
532HP, 479lb/ft torque, 6-speed ZF trans, nearly 200 MPH, 0 - 60, 4.7 sec
With this much power it's a good thing the styling is subtle.

Sweet ride, I thought that was a great article, even removed the issue from its usual place alongside the throne, to be stored with great indignity alongside other musty issues of Quattro, MGA! and Road & Track. Its a keeper, just like the Continental. A wee bit stuffy for my tastes though it looks like an awesome car.

I would have to go with the McLaren F1 for a mear $850,000. The driver sits in the center front and you can seat two in the back not to mention it's the fastest production car in the world at 230mph.
