But just imagine the thrill of being about four feet behind a semi at 70 mph, dragged along by the draft with your food barely touching the accelerator, and a MPG readout of 60 mpg or more.

I know this is an old post, but is it worth turning your car off and concentrating on driving so carefully to get that extra 50 miles if you are getting 25 mpg that is only like 6 bucks. Lots of people pay that much for a flurffy coffee I would rather get my buzz from motoring.

That being said on the highway I have found going 75 isn't any more fun than 65 and I get 42-44 rather than 30-35 mpg. (non-s)

I tried driving economically when I first got Quentin, it was boring as hell and I could only manage about 26 mpg. I gave up trying, I averaged 20.6.

I second what Btwyx says. I go off and on trying to better my mpg. More off than on though.

I think the most frustrating thing is the folks that always enviously ask "I bet you get great gas mileage in that little thing". And their astonishment when I honestly tell them I'm just under 30mpg city/fwy driving. I guess they expect these cars to be 50+mpg cars like some boring prius.

It's hard to explain the rush this car gives in the twisties or just zipping around RPMs pushing redline. Oh, the sound of the supercharger whining...
