We drove from Austin to San Antonio after work to pick up my baby and then drove back home.

The funny thing was it was 65 miles to San Antonio in my wife's Volvo but 137 miles back to Austin in the MINI...faulty odometer?????

ony of my BMW friend picked up his car and went to a business trip right away. He got his New NAV in the Bimmer. he tried to find a short cut with the NAV. after 2 hours drive he found out that he got lost in Cobb country in Atlanta since he put in the wrong street name!!

40 all too short miles to a buddy's garage where I parked her and said goodbye for A WEEK (cause it was a surprise for my bride on our wedding the following Saturday)...

... then a week later, drove it to the chapel and hid it.

... then my little bro's wife decorated it and moved it out front.

... then to the reception...

... then to the hotel

... then home to the garage w/ barely 100 miles on it...

... and left it alone for ANOTHER 2 WEEKS!!!!!

We really neglected her in the first month, but we're trying to make up for it now

Straight home (well not straight - back roads & no highway) into the garage to wait for the clear bra guy to come and do his thing. I wasn't going to risk getting a rock chip in the nose before it got protected by the clear bra.

Between the clear bra and my audio system install, it was in the garage for the first 3 days. Then the fun began.

After taking delivery in Albany this morning, I drove up into the Adirondacks in search of twisties and no civilization. What a blast!! Then I drove her home to Syracuse, washed the bug guts off, and put her under her new cover. She's resting now.

Since we picked up Brooksie in Los Angeles, we had to drive home....to San Diego. A good little drive to sort her out, and at the time, June '02, there were hardly any other MINIs out & about, so when we stopped for dinner on the way, we had quite an audience.

Rob in Dago

Picked it up yesterday at Crevier in Santa Ana. Drove the 91 East and sat in traffic for a good half hour stop-n-go. Finally traffic started moving and I got to finally put the car in 6th gear. Never had a 6 speed vehicle before. Sometimes I forget its there....

Went straight home and parked it. Surprised my wife....

I went straight to discount tires for new rubber and then to Mexico (w/o my MCS) on business for a week.

By the way if you want an extra set of 16'' runflats...
