On my 07 MCS i have avarage 35 MPG (hand calculated), i drive 1600 miles per month and do so very conservativly. On the freeway i drive in the slow lane and draft behind semi trucks, I coast in neutral down hills, I accelerate slowly and coast up to red lights. About every other week i get a wild hair up my *** when I drive to and from Malibu through the canyons, in fact i push the sport button and mash the throttle through every gear around every turn so i can hear my front tires break traction, last tuesday i actually was able to get a little four wheel drift around one sweeping hairpin. If it was'nt for these canyon runs, my milage would be better still...

 

I don't get the best milage from MINIs it seems, too much fun. I can drive more economically, but its just no fun. I keep records for all the MINis, Quentin's got an average of 20.6 and a max of 26.4.

The computer is pretty consistently 4% too optimistic. So it'd be indicating 21.4 average and 27.5 max.

I'm eager to find out how economical the 08 is going to be.

 

I just had a 230 mile trip in Texas today and the OBC read 36.7 ave speed was 67 mph, 300 ft in elevation gain cruise was on whole time and A/C running. My in town is 24 - 26, o this a '03 s

 

24mpg, hand calculated. Mostly city driving and kinda of a lead foot.
