I took a long trip this afternoon, and was about an hour or so out of Columbus. I switched to the radion and had trouble getting any stations. I went through 6 FM1 and 6 FM2 stations in memory, then pushed the FM button again to get to
FMA, pressed and held the M button until autoprog was in the radio display. In a couple of seconds, I had the six strongest signals progammed in auto memory. AM also has this feature. So when you are traveling you can quickly program the strongest signals. It's a nice feature.

I remember this feature on a Volvo, and a Mercedes, but as I recall, only on FM. I was surprised (and happy) to find it on the Mini, and both for AM and FM.

Thanks for the tip, Steve! I'm still figuring out all the bells & whistles. Haven't had a new car since '88, so I'm thrilled with all the gadgets!

Clover,
I'm glad to hear about your excitement. I didn't notice your tag line had changed. Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather! I hope you are motoring again very soon.

Ya know, I read several new studies in a reputable journal, where driving a mini was found to be: good for the immune system, in fact it was slightly better than antioxidents with a small sample of drivers in Sweden (these studies somehow are always from Sweden). In a second study driving a mini more that 20 miles a day, provided partial immunity from influenza, decreased symptoms of the common cold virus, also resulted in 2 lb avg weight loss per week in drivers using standard shifts (I think from not snacking while driving or maybe aerobic shifting). Driving a mini also was as good as Viagra in a small group of men and women (I hope this was when outside their cars), and finally in a case study of 'Harry R.' driving a mini cured male pattern baldness (I don't know about this study, I mean he was already Harry to start with....sorry..).

Soooo, my point in all this is that, if you are feeling sick, driving your mini, may be the cure. It could be within a couple of years, doctors will be prescribing minis to treat a variety of conditions... Anyway hope you are feeling better! And don't hesitate to drive your mini (at least that's my 1.6 cents)--
Steve

I plan to heed it in earnest this week! Just my few "token" drives have been marvelous, though! One of the cutest things that happened: driving around a neighborhood looking for houses for sale for a friend, stopped at a stop sign, and as we turned right, a big, beautiful dalmation got very excited when it saw MINIclo and started smiling and vigorously wagging its tail! Even dogs like MINIs!

Cheers!

I didn't get the sunroof (too fair for all the L.A. sun & those painful UV rays)! And, MINIclo is one-toned: all Pure Silver! Hopefully, CMINIGO will post my pics tomorrow! I am such a dork with the pic-posting...hope to figure it out one day! Like I'm sure I've mentioned before, L.A. is very jaded when it comes to exotics...cars and well, whatever, LOL! There are now quite a few MINIs toodling around town. I see several every week, anyway. I've been pointed and waved at by children a few times, etc., but I'm still so focussed on improving my shifting skills (first stick-shift in 18 years!), that I'm not paying much attention to all the glory MINIclo might be receiving! LOL!
