The automatic climate control system on my 3 day old Mini is sometimes dead on arrival when the car is started. Turning it off and restarting generally resolve the problem. Once it came on by itself a few minutes into the drive. My dealer service manager has not encountered this problem previously. Other owners in various forums, have, however. Anyone found the source of the problem and a solution?

I had this same problem also, but only once. When i turned the car off, let it set while i was inside, got back in to leave and it came back on like it should. Like i said, just once...so far.

I guess this is another reason why the ever reliable manual A/C controls are a better choice.

I like my manual control set-up just fine. With the MINI and it's marginal at best air conditioner the only control I need to adjust is the fan speed.

Hmm, maybe we could stay on topic here kids. In my case, the car came with it, but i would have ordered it had i ordered my MCS. If you don't have the auto a/c then there's not much need to post here, right? So, back on topic, has anyone else had this problem and experience with a dealer being able to diagnose?
thanks!
