today on the way home from school, when i lifted off of the gas and let the car roll, there was a terrile clunking/popping noise from under the front end. any ideas? the sound is also more sever when the car is in neutral.

 

check your motor mounts.

The passenger side motor mount on the '05 and '06 MCS is notorious for leaking - you'll see a gummy black spot under the mount if it is leaking. You may even have a bonus black spot on your garage floor.

 

The driver's side axle was just replaced on my car after only 8.9K miles!
It was making similar noises, plus clicking while turning...

 

just checked around undwer the hood. the passanger side mount that the motor sits on top of looks damaged. i would like to swap thatas well as the bushings in the mount under the motor. the noise pretty much only happens when coasting down a hill, looks like the motor is contacting the frame up front. outmotoring sells a powerflex motor mount bushiung kit, which mounts will this kit replace and whichones will be left alone?
