Sunroof question...

I've been thinking about having an after market sunroof installed but have a question..... I've found a complete roof assembly for sale on ebay but question if it can actually be installed. I've asked the dealer but they say the car wasn't 'stamped' for a roof, it wouldn't work - though on cold nights, you can see a sunroof outline from the condensation build up. Does anyone have any ideas????

I would not recommend any after market sunroof.
My brother did one many years ago and it was never right and the functionality is much different than stock.
What you get with the after market sunroofs is so different from OEM I have never met anyone who is really happy with them.
Just my $.02

Hey, where in Cinci are you?

I wouldn't bother with aftermarket unless you know a GOOD place to get it installed at, and know the quality of the sunroof before purchase. I know there are some vinyl sunroofs out there, not sure how good they are though.

How about this "sunroof"

http://www.offroaders.com/tnt/6.htm

....VERY inexpensive, DIY and most importantly.....its GUARANTEED NOT TO LEAK for the life of your car

Thank me later and would love to see the finished product on your Mini

Thanks for the responses!! The roof I found was from a salvaged Cooper. I've been debating b/t that or going w/an aftermarket setup.

Cody: I'm in Glendale btw.

i've not heard good things about the AM sunroofs.
[tendency to shatter, etc]

what's wrong with the one you got?
