It's been three weeks ... I think it's time this thread was resurrected. I can't believe that all that can be said on the subject has been said.

OK. Here goes. Beyond the obvious ... that it takes all kinds of different people to make the world ... or to put it a different way ... different strokes for different folks. Beyond that kind of simplistic reasoning ...

why is it that some people find relaxation and refreshment by a walk in the woods, and others find it by getting in their car and going for a drive? I would guess that if you conducted a statistically sound poll, most people would say that a walk in the woods gets you closer to nature, but that a drive in your car thru the countryside does not get you closer to nature. And yet, I feel more alive and more a part of creation after a drive in my MINI than I do by a walk in the woods.

Logic, which in the case described above, would be defined by what most rational people would think, would argue that I shouldn't feel what I do. But I do feel it none-the-less. Why is that?

I have some of my own thoughts on the subject, but let's see what responses this post brings out ... beyond the obvious answer.
