nfo- You might see about ordering one from Autoworks, you might luck into the right color. The bumper cap comes off really easily. you can use this as an excuse to change to the Aero grilles. This is a simple and cheap mod that you CAN do yourself. ( if you like that look) You can get the grilles for about $ 60 -$70 bucks. While you have it apart you can plasti coat the running lights, run wiring for driving lights. I am required to have a front plate, so I got the Aero holder too. I think it looks sweet. Best of luck.

I had similar damage to my "other" car about a year ago. A body shop guy came to my work and made it good as new for about $100, and it only took him about an hour!

>>this happened when a mail truck suddenly decided to change lanes and slam on brakes...
>>i just found out the chrome inserts are only $30!
>>

If the mail truck dove in front of you it's his fault. Any witnesses? Bill his insurance company.

No big deal, don't loose any sleep over it and definately do not call your insurance company. If the damage is just paint like you say it is, a good body shop should do it quickly and inexpensively. Ask your Mini dealer who they recommend for painting the primer parts they sell, I think you will be very surprised to hear how cheap it will be to repair. You can save some money too if you remove the bumper and ring it in without the car.
That leed on eBay also sounds great, if the bumper covers are new and the color matches your car.

Just a thought. I do a lot with motorcycles. A lot of kids do custom airbrush work on bikes in their garages or small indie shops. They are great at feathering in type work and are usually hungry for quick cash. Look around, if you were near me, I know we could get you hooked up. Call your local bike shops and ask about their "buddy" type painters. Small repairs are easy and quick, just what young guys want for side money. NFO- especially if you yank the parts.

Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't be angered. I'd be PISSED!
