R50/53 South Mountain Pictures... Phoenix AZ
Here in Phoenix, if you want to get out before it gets hot, you have to get up early.
We were up at 4:30 AM and drove up to the top of South Mountain, a local county park. The views of PHX are pretty nice and it's a nice drive.
Attached are pictures of both babies.... my wife and the MCS.
and the interior just because it turned out so nice:

Great pics, I can't wait to move to Tucson, I'll have to head north and check out the Phoenix area after I get settled in. Do you know of any twsity canyon roads outside of Phoenix.

Keep your eyes on the SW regional forum. We're always going out motoring in one direction or another.
There's some fun roads to motor on in the southern part of AZ and there's plenty of people with MINIs in Tucson.

Sorry I didn't respond right away... posted and then left home for a few hours.
--> The insides look nice when they're new!
I hope I can keep it that way. After breakfast, we came home and washed/wax... the PT Cruiser. We'll do mine tomorrow. I did install the European shelf and AZ tags though.
-->Do you have other good ones to post?
I do but they're variations on those above so I won't eat up any more disk space!

It's funny but just about any which way you head out of PHX are on great roads. Not all of them are as twisted as you'd like but the scenery can't be beat. I like going east on US-60 towards the Superstitions but on the weekends, you have to watch for sportbikes, HD and the like. This take you to Tortilla Flats. A quick internet search brought up http://www.piscitella.com/VISITS/jan..._home_page.htm where you can see scenes like this:

I've lived in at least 10 different states and loved the roads in all of them but I do enjoy AZ. I drove a SUV in the years prior and was probably one of those guys that you guys love to hate but I guess I'm semi-reformed. But at least I used the LR as designed doing at least 6 trips across the Mojave (Needles to Baker, 124 miles on dirt through 3 days and 2 nights), countless trips to the Bradshaws (n. of PHX), up to almost 14,000 ft in CO, below sea level in Death Valley and even a trip to Mexico and Belize where we carried supplies to churches and hospitals in Belize.
And, I haven't given up the SUV habit completely. I've got a 1964 Land Rover SIIA Dormobile in the garage waiting on me. It's name is Humpty Dumpty since it may take all the king's men to put Humpty back together again. Humpty's in pretty bad shape.
SO, for now, I've living and loving life from the front seats of a MCS.
