Parking/Standing Lamp Replacement?

My parking lamp/standing lamp (next to turn signal) recently went out on the front passenger side. The manual indicates to to turn the bulb holder to the left and pull out to remove. While this works for the turn signal bulb I can't get the bulb for the parking/standing bulb out. Though they are both in th same housing the parking/standing bulb is in a separate opening. I really don't know how much force it requires to pull the bulb out. I'm worried about damaging the wiring or destroying the bulb while in the housing. Do I turn to left and pull hard??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Turn it counterclockwise (same way as the turn signal) while pushing it in a bit - sometimes these get pretty stuck. I know folks who have had to use pliers to wiggle it a bit to break it loose - then turn to remove.

Spray it with a bit of WD40 and let it sit a while. Then try with the pliers...

Yeah, the first time you take that bulb out, it hurts. Once you start twisting, don't let up and it'll keep turning. There's a rubber seal between the bulb holder and the housing. It won't let up all of a sudden like a metal bolt, but it will gradually start twisting faster. In my experience with these bulbs, twisting longer had more of an effect than trying to twist harder with mechanical advantage (pliers).

I recently had to change this, and after some struggles, I switched hands and it came right out... go figure.

I'm glad to have found this. I was almost resigned to pulling the bumper off, but then I decided that not even the Brits could possibly have designed something so ridiculous. Out with the WD-40!
