R50/53 Post your production times and codes here (share the knowled
for the longest time (end of May to July) my status was on order then I checked last week and now I have a VIN, found you guys which led me to call MINI, come to find out it is sitting on the dock by the bay with PFD hanging on the mirror. should be here, from your info, mid-Aug. Dealer originally told me to look in Sept- Oct.
Once production starts, it's usually about a week to build the MINI. Then figure 2 weeks at the port, 10 days on the water, and no more than a week at port NJ before the dealer sees it. Total time is usually about 6 weeks. If you are on the other side of the coast, about 8-10 weeks.
So far everything has been going great. Been trackin the little beast since May 31st. The order thing for about 2or 3 weeks, then the production sch. thing for about 2 wks., then awaiting transport. Just checked in with the shipping line and they show it recd. at the Southhamption terminal yesterday. Hoping for the ship leaving Sat. for CA. She be sailing on the good ship TAKASAGO.
It's gettin close, be still my heart.

I logged into the owner's lounge and found the 'details' link, and got my VIN that way. She supposedly arrived in SC on 7/8. I'm not sure when she'll get to Florida. The people at the dealer are useless. They didn't know the car was in port yet, and had no idea when to expect it at their lot. They can't find their collective behinds with both hands and a buddy. Once my car is here safe and sound, I will post on the dealer review section. My letter to the GM is already composed.
My car was finished on June 10.....it is awaiting transport now....now knowing those production codes, where can I find the exact production code of my car? Does it say online? If I missed this somewhere I am sorry but didn't have a chance to read everyone's responses.....
I ordered my Chili Red Cooper S on 6/16 and patiently waited for "On Order" to change to "Scheduled for Production -- 7/5". Now I've progressed to "Awaiting Transport"
A quick check of the shipping company tells me my MINI was booked on 7/12 , received at the terminal on 7/13 and loaded on the boat the same day. Hopefully, this was for the 7/15 voyage, today, which arrives in New York on 7/24.
Perhaps if I pray to Carburetus Minimus, the god of little cars, I'll be driving...sorry, MOTORING...my Cooper S by the end of August.
Man, I love the Internet!

>>ebateman - how did you order in June and get a July prod date on an S???
My S will be pretty basic -- just the cloth seats and the cold weather package to distinguish it from the base model S. Maybe the other options take longer to build, particularly if there's a delay in something as basic as the headlamps (didn't I read about a delay in the Xenon headlights?).

Does anyone know of any dealerships in PA that have a good rep? I have resorted to calling out of state because I heard that the dealership that I am using is totally hosing alot of customers (and I can believe it now!)
I ordered my Silver and Black, MINI Cooper back on 4/4. I was told by the dealership in Boston that I would receive it in July. Well, here we are and production is "estimated" to begin on August 16th! I'm seriously going to have a MINI heart attack any day now from anxiety.
Blimey -- Four months seems excessive, especially for the Cooper. What options did you order...anything unique that could be holding up the process?
Fortunately, I have yet to see any MINIs on the road, so I am spared the heartache and pain of seeing what I could be driving. I did see one sitting on a trailer behind an RV in a Wal-Mart parking lot a few months ago, but it's not the same.

>>I ordered mine in April also.....what dealership are you going through?
Towne MINI in Buffalo, NY. I took a test drive in early June in both of their demo flavors, Cooper and Cooper S. At the time, they had two to sell, both Coopers. I called back a few days later and the one I was interested in was gone (just as well, since I really wanted the Cooper S), so there is some interest, maybe not just as much as there is in other areas of the country.
BTW, when I first showed up at the dealership in June, they had about 20 on the lot, but none were for sale! The truck had just arrived that day, and they were all waiting for their owners to come and pick them up, lucky stiffs.

I just don't know what to think.....I have started hearing really awful stuff about my dealership from alot of people, like that they are selling cars out from under people and stuff like that. It's kinda scary.
i ordered/reserved my MINI w/ a sport package in mid-june w/ the prod date set for june 28th...well my MINI actually was born pre-maturely, by about 4-6 days....it was shipped on the 29th of june and arrived the 11th of june
my dealer told me it was supposed to get here by the 25th of july, now MINIusa.com says itll be here around the 27th of july, no big deal
but now i just recieved an email from miniusa.com that my MINI did arrive on the 11th but STILL has not made it to the VPC (distribution center) and that once it gets there....ITS GONNA BE THERE FOR TWO WEEKS!?!?!?!
and on top of already being a couple days late...miniusa.com couldnt even tell me where it is and when it will get to the VPC (it was supposed to get there on the 14th of july)
what the...some advice please!
all ive been hearing lately is people getting bad news, missed boats, missed prod dates, lost orders, and soooo juch more?
what the hell is going on here?

They didn't even give me a production date when I ordered in April....they let me know at the end of June that it had been produced on June 10th. "Oh great!" I thought, "Not too much longer now!" Wrong. This is the most obnoxious thing I have ever had to go through! And now I guess I will have to tell the guy who wants to buy my old car that he can't have it because God knows how much longer I will have to wait....for either car.....even though I only ordered one.....and then they ordered me two....
I didn't really go nuts with options. (Premium Package, Leather, and 15" alloy wheels). It's the 4 months they make you wait at the dealership before they even submit your order that really hurt.
I've actually noticed quite a few MINIs in the Boston area since their arrival. People can't help but point at them as they motor past. There are a few MINI billboard ads around the city too. Good luck with your new Chili Red Cooper S that's on its way. I'd pick out a good radar detector to go with that puppy..

 ok so we are moving along placed my order on june 26 est. production july 26 i went from " on order " to " slated for prodution" with a VIN # on july 12th with a (stage 150) so now i wait and thank the lord for this website it helps pass the days
You should have rec'd a production date at the time of the order. Unless they didn't order it when they said they did. For cry'n out loud it's right there on the computer when they input the order. Having an order # after you give a deposit or order money is the best insurance on not having your car misplaced or sold out from under you. Becareful with the sales people, IMO this looks like an entry level position for BMW sales.
Well I am now tracking two cars.....whichever one gets here first belongs to me. At this point I don't trust that dealership very much though....unfortunately it is to the point that all I can do is wait.
