R50/53 Driving Lights Install
Driving Lights Install
howdy everyone. i just bought my '05 S this past november and i love it. the thing is that the driving lights on it were not installed. the bulb units themselves are up, but not the wiring.
i was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to go about this. i do have the instructions, but just wanted to make sure i had my bearing before i did anything.
also, i have xenons... why do the instructions say that i need a "safety harness" to be installed?
Thanks!

Safety harness??
I believe they call for new, stronger bonnet struts to account for the weight of the lights, but I left the OEM on without issue.
As for the install, the instructions are spot on - I followed them and there were no issues. The toughest part was drilling for the brackets.

What ER said. I managed it, and I'm not usually very good with this kind of stuff. I didn't make a marathon out of it - just worked on it when I was in the mood, and quit when the mood passed.
While the topic is out there, is there anyone who just sells the wiring? I have 2 Hella lamps mounted already I just don't know about the wiring, so I was looking at getting a new factory harness Is there any such thing?
