I think that I do, but I was wondering why that duct wasn't included on manual equipped MINI's that's all. Seems odd to me.

when i went to the dealer they mentioned they had some problems removing plastic steering cover due to people installing them with loctite, i dont know if this is the one they were talking about but, something you might keep in mind.

i decided to go with the power steering shield. was a snap to install and was cheaper.

I put the "oem duct" on my MINI today. Having a place to lift the car off the ground made it super easy. Would have been nice if the 2 speedclips needed for attaching to the fan were included, but I had some so no biggie.

I'm supposing the natural higher pressure air under the car is supposed to help direct air into the duct and thus assist the fan in ventilation; not having a temp sensor for the fan to test before/after I'll never know.

Too bad the duct part has to be dropped to change the oil but oh well.

I would have pictures but my camera is lame and always thinks the batteries are dead.

well yeah, but only the section that goes from the front 'air dam' to the fan itself, you can disconnect at the front or the fan and it will push slightly out of the way. The duct part is pretty flexible which helps.

Having electric power steering saves MINI from finding a way to drive the pump off the engine in such tight quarters but it feels like they could have done a better job with the fan installation etc (duh)

Any add'l thoughts on the OEM duct? I currently have the Cobalt Shroud from Moss. As I am getting a 15% pulley installed soon I was wondering if the ducting system is BETTER? Anyone out there have experience with them?

I haven't jumped on this yet but I am seriously considering it. I like the fact the besides adding a bit more cooling to the fan, it also keeps out all of the road dirt out of the fan.

If you two kids don't stop arguing, I'm gonna turn this car around and go home!

I've heard that salt and other road junk has been partially responsible for power steering fan death and I'm thinking that at least some of that crud is not making it's way to my fan anymore...
