MINI's almost fixed

Haven't been here in a while and decided to post... it's almost been 3 months since my mini got hit by a dumb driver (crossed 3 lanes without looking ) and it seems that friday's the day I get it back. We have bad insurance companies and it never seems that we have replacement parts in stock down here in Mexico, so yeah, 3 months! And it's the third time I've had to deal with this. Three pretty bad accidents but not bad enogh to total the car, anyway don't know what to do with it now, don't know if I should keep it or sell it. Anyway here are some pics, I've got more from this crash and the others if you're interested. Comments welcome.

Oww! Man, after three, maybe you should consider trying a different car. Sounds like bad juju or something. Just kidding.

Actually, I have been rear-ended twice, both very minor, but tonight I got smacked real good in the left side. I just finished starting a new thread about it myself ("T-boned...") here in the Coupe talk forum.

Hope your car is great again when you get it back.

I hope mine is not in the shop as long as yours has been!!

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply and yeah, after three months it better be great!! Sorry to hear about your car, but it ain't all that bad, seems like you're okay.

From the pics can anyone tell me what to check when i go pick it up?
I have a small list in my head but i wanna be sure to check everything...
-Correct sheetmetal alignment
-Paint needs to be pristine
-Functioning lights
-Windshield washer fluid tank
-Opening/closing hood and door
-Take it for a spin in case they missed something mechanical

Also check for over-spray which makes the repair seem sloppy.
Check all gaskets.
Check window and sunroof operation. Even if these did not seem to be involved you would be surprised how often these get messed up in a repair.
Check the whole car, not just the repair area for anything they did to the paint. Sometimes they will 'buff' the rest of the car to make the whole job look better.
Check the interior, again over three months who know what may have happened.
In summary check the car like you are taking delivery of it new.

gobi,

Sorry to hear about the accidents. I was going to ask to see pictures of your MINI in the Purple Haze thread, but wow, this was not what I was expecting. I'd love to see picture now that it's been repaired. You didn't get hurt in the accidents did you?

Take it easy, you'll be glad to have your MINI home.

No didn't get hurt, well only emotionally. The first time my heart broke, the second i just got mentally exhausted and this time i'm sorry to say that i think i finally got used to it.
