Anyone know where I can find a shifter **** for my MINI? I just wanted something new, different, but not a JCW one either... I've been looking around, but can't find anything without having to buy the whole shifter too...
I've got a MOMO **** on my 2k2 Cooper without any issues....you can find them for pretty cheap on the web or your favorite car forum...I've got 5-6 different ones so I change when I feel like it

I'll second the MOMO **** and boot. The boot screws right onto the bottom of the ****, which eliminates the (to me) annoying gap between the **** and the boot. I really like mine, and I have had it on for a couple of years now.
I've used Momos in other cars and been happy with them. Still have the stock **** in the Mini, though. I assume this one doesn't screw off, but is there any special method for removal?

Open the sunroof if you have one. Put both hands around the shifter **** and pull up hard.
Feels great, doesn't get as hot as a metal **** in the summer or as cold in the winter. If you live in a cold climate the winter can be brutal with bare skin against the cold shift ****.

most of the greddy ones are screw-in for japanese cars, arent they? as you may have gathered from previous posts, minis are press-in shift ****, no threads
mini specific you have to go with the whalen, the quality is superb...
i have a momo race air, and changing to a sparco (just to match my seats )
I had two MOMO ***** and they were great but they didn't hold a candle to my custom Whalen ****. Doug is a craftsman and an artist. His work is worth every penny. A good MOMO isn't cheap anyway so I would spend the extra and then you can get a custom design on it to boot.
These are pictures Doug Whalen took of my Shift **** before he mail it to me. I got the brushed finish sides with a polished top. He even made it to fit the Alta short shifter before Alta sold the factory **** adapter.
