No Holes License Plate Bracket...

Is GoMiniGo the only (best?) place to buy this? $50 seems like a lot for this, but I need to add a front plate and don't want to drill holes.

Anyone use this bracket? Is it easy to install?

thanks!

I have one, and I like it quite a bit. Compare the cost of the bracket against the fine for not having a front plate displayed!

Moss sells one. Different construction than the GoMiniGo holder, and only has three height positions compared to the GoMiniGo's five. I haven't seen any pluses or minuses comparing the two, but the GoMiniGo holder is considered the original no-holes bracket, so.

i looked at moss, but missed this one. i went ahead and ordered from GoMiniGo since the prices are about the same and I'll have a few more positions to choose from.

thanks for the replies.

We got your order and it has already shipped.

Just to let you know, all our parts are stainless steel, the other one out there that is a copy of ours is steel and we have seen one installed for just six months that had rust all over it.

GoMiniGo was pretty much the originator of that one:

good service!

have been meaning to post that GoMiniGo's service was excellent.

I ordered my bracket on 12/5/07 and thought it was going to be a few days, but it was here on Friday morning (12/7/07) and installed very easily on Saturday. despite having to have an ugly license plate on the front, it looks great!

thanks!

Here are some photos of the GoMiniGo bracket on an R56. I don't think there is much difference between the R56 & R53 models:

Actually, the main bracket is different from R53 to R56.

$50 is cheap compared to moving to a no-front-plate state!

I had a mishap with my front plate and it bent the bracket something horrible. One call to GoMINIGo and I had a new bracket 2 days later. Very Very good customer service. When I get my next MINI I know the first call I will make!

There's a post around here from a couple of years ago on a DIY front plate bracket that sandwiches the tow hook. 2 pieces of angle aluminum and 4 bolts. It's served me well for nearly 2 years now. It's cheap, and only looks odd if you look specifically at the mount from behind, but it's possible to get the plate a little crooked depending on the thread position in the tow hook. Otherwise, I love it!

Does the no hold license plate holder from MossMini rust? I checked the site, and couldn't find if it was made of stainless steel. If it could rust I'll have to return it when my order comes in.

I have seen a couple on different cars, they were mounted for a few months and both had rust around the license plate screws and the mounting point to the tow hook bolt.

Darn it! Zach, I wish that I had known about that bill before I bought the no holes bracket. Knowing my luck that will be the only bill that does pass this legislative session. It's amazing that anything happens in this state...

Cool. Just ordered one. My PW/B MCS just got off the boat yesterday. I will call my MA tomorrow and tell him to keep the drill bits away from my front bumper. Nice product.
