Also interested in hearing about the MFSW/cruise control option. I've seen that on Realoem. it lists the retrofit kit, but also lists a "line cable", which is basically the one that conveys the switch info. to the main harness, but is this included with the kit, or does it need to be bought additionally???

 

I added: parcel shelf and the newer arm rest/center console to my '03 - not too hard. Instructions were worthless, about 2 hours of cursing. Do not remember cost, I was working at a local dealership at the time.

As to the MFSW - I tried to retrofit, but if the wiring is in place to start with it is very easy, if it is not (and not in the wheel, but available where the wheel harness connects to the car harness, then it is probably not worth it.

According to the MINI techs at the time (2005/06) the MINI's came with several different possible harnesses based on what options were ordered with the car and what harness they had available (there is a lot of inconsistency in the assembly) so - if you have it great, if not - good luck. I am not so lucky, my car does not have the required harness parts to retrofit the MFSW nor cruise control.... too bad for me.

 

Do you know what are the telltale signs of a wiring harness that will accept a retrofit MFSW?

 

Has anyone install Automatic Headlights? It seems that my 05' MCS has the sensor on the dash, but doesn't have the auto headlight option on the turn signal lever.

 

Did any one figure out anything with the cruise control?
