The Metroplex MINI club in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex got together to be in a parade in Plano, Texas. This is a fairly large and popular parade, so MINI and our club both got a lot of great exposure. We maxed out our entry number in the parade - have a look here:

Metroplex MINI in July 4th Parade

Here's one picture from the collection:

We had a blast! Some of the MINIs went on a drive through the twisties on the way to lunch. For all of this, I just have to say: GOD BLESS AMERICA!

We also did the "warming up the tires 'S' turns" and were asked frequently by the crowd to "rev 'em up" which we did to lotsa "whooooohoooos"! This was a great event and we stretched our MINI's legs in the twisties when we were done driving at walking pace! You've gotta love this country!

Hey McKinneyMINI, this is GoldenBoy9 from the MetroplexMINI board. I was in front of you for a good chunk of the parade route in the EB/W MCS. Sorry my sister and I weren't able to join you guys for lunch and twisties afterwards, we went home to hang out with our folks.

Hi Coopersracer, next time! You found the best bunch to hang out with and talk and drive MINIS! PM me and I'll tell you how the twisties drive went.

My parents live in Carrollton (a Dallas suburb) and my Dad was also in a July 4th parade driving his Sebring convertible. I think he was escorting a Carrollton official. I'll have to send him this link. Thanks.

No it's polished aluminum. It's a new 40th anniversary genuine Shelby Cobra 427. It has a 427 engine that has gone back into production. Sweet huh!
