whalens shift **** with midlands 5 speed

I'm thinking about a Whalens shift **** for Xmas and I notice many users with the whalens shift **** have the 6 speed getrag. How does the Whalens shift **** work with the coopers Midlands 5 speed. Is there any benefit other than looks? Does it make it shift any smoother or does it actually make the already smooth shifting midlands worse? Thanks for any input.

1, yes it fits. I have a 5spd R50 with it and I love it. It is a lot easier going in and out of gear due to the extra weight. Throwing is a bit quicker as well. I actually purchased the billiard ball ****. #14, green and white, to match my BRG and white car. Well worth the price. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it.

I know the standard metal ones fit without problems... and you can have whatever shift pattern engraved on it.
( I find that I like the extra weight of the **** when shifting, but thats me )
