R50/53 Do we have any motorcycle riders on MCO?
>>>>2000 M900S Ducati, 2002 BMW R1150GS, 2003 Kawasaki KLX400SR dual sport and 2003 KTM 450MXC.

Yes, the Ducati 900 Monster is a very nice bike and loads of fun to ride. Lots of carbon fiber, aluminum and titanium fasteners, Ohlins shock and Scotts steering stabilizer. Great sound and good power, but there are a lot of much faster bikes on the road, but the Ducati does a great job of keeping up when the roads turn twisty. I like the GS for long days in the saddle and for going into the city as it has saddlebags and 2 mirrors. The Duc is pretty minimal, no storage and only one mirror. My favorites are the dirt bikes though. You never have to look in your rear view mirror!

MINI's and motorcycles go great together! I've got a 2002 Kawasaki ZZR1200 and also a 2000 BMW R1150GS. The images are generics, I don't have any digitized images of mine yet but the colors are correct.

The GS is truly a great bike. It does everything well. Good, usable power, comfortable ride, good on gas and not too hard on tires. I would be very reluctant though to take it down anything less than a wide dirt rode as at 550+ pounds and a tall saddle, it would be a handful if you had to turn it around in tight quarters and even a bigger handful if you dropped it and had to pick it back up.
Nice bikes!
I've been on bikes since I took my endorsement test in 1969 on (of all things) a Bridgestone 50.
We currently own a '99 Victory that's been decked out in lace wheels, white walls, studs, conchos, and all the nostalgic looking fare. It's a nice bike with a gruff character that has a lot of low end grunt.
A lot of folks diss these bikes but probably have never driven one. I like the old cruising/touring way of riding. I did a lot of stupid stunts earlier in my life and lived to tell about it, so things have mellowed out now.
At least for the time being.......

Thanks for all of the great responce and photos. I knew we had to have some riders amongst us. I choose the BMW R1100RSL because with the bags you have a wonderful tourer and without them you have a great sport bike. At 63k miles, all I've had to do is routine maintenance. My first BMW bike was a 1964 R69S, purchased with 35k miles and sold 13 years later with just over 200k miles. Love that German engineering. I hope my MINI does just as well.

Hope this works, this is my first shot at posting pic.s (and geting these into digital form was a challange).
I've got a 1998 Suzuki 1500 Intruder, a great ride and almost no maintenance.

...and a 1946 Indian Chief, stroked to 80cu in 1954, I'm the 5th owner. Right now its no ride and all maintenance. Its in the process of its 2nd restoration, having been done once in the early 60's, before I got it.
