i now have my mini . i was wondering how to sort through all of the various numbers that are on the paperwork to be able to know the actual production number of my mini. the prod. # is 7009424. where in there is the number i am looking for. It seems like something cool to know about. i also have been told it is reflected somewhere in the vin # on some cars.
Any help/ advice will be so gladly welcomed.

Go to miniusa and register at the owners lounge, there you can see your vin numbers etc.
