herby, doc, my MINI is on the Aida too! I spoke to ASK MINI today and they said the 28th. I hope that is true still! I can't wait, each day my MINI fever gets a bit worse!

Miniclo........
Congrats! In all that glee, can you do me a favor? My brother, Jeff, lives at
249 Orizaba St. in Long Beach, CA. Would you be kind enough to drop by and give
him a ride around the block in your Mini? I don't think he really understands what
I'm talking about here when I tell him about this new driving machine.

Well, Herby, my little MINIclo didn't make it to LB MINI today! Are you serious about giving Jeff a ride? I'm up for it!

Cheers!

All you "soon to be's" don't know the half of driving your new MINI home from the dealership. It's a wonderful feeling!
I couldn't keep the smile off my face. I actually broke out laughing at one point. I guess the best part was my dealer is 150 miles away so I had a long, slow, head turning, lights flashing, thumbs up and waves ride home.
It has been worth every cent I spent on this car. With over 7,000 miles on it (birth date 6/13) I still love driving this car.
Good luck to those waiting - it is well worth it!

Dark Silver S - driving the roads of CA.

MINIclo....

I am totally serious about my brother. It would be a gas to have you surprise him,
especially with all of your 'new' enthusiasm. He teaches at Cal State Long Beach,
so you'd be more likely to find him or his wife there more toward the dinner hour.
I appreciate that you are even considering this possibility!

Herby, I picked up MINIclo today and drove her straight home! I was so exhausted from the wait, I just wanted to have her safe and sound in my driveway! I have to return, however, to have my remote key programmed in a week or so... Maybe I could zoom past your bro's place then? What does he teach at CSLBU? Good school! I'll try to schedule my appointment for the latter part of the afternoon, if that would accomodate his seeing my little beauty! Let me know...

Cheers!

Why are there so many DS/B "S"'s. I have a Cooper, not an "S", so this is a comment from outside the club. THe DS/B is a very good looking combination, but it seems 50% of the "S" cars are that. Maybe MINI needs to offer a wider color selection for the "S" to give you high horsepower guys more of a choice.

Color is good and MINI's are about individuality.

I agree. My MCS is a DS/B but if they offered it in Pepper White with the tan/black leather interior, I would have snagged it.
However, I just love the DS/B combo. It suits me.

1200 baud?! My first modem was only 300 baud! I remember when I "upgraded" to 1200 baud, I also had to pay a higher rate from my online provider!!!

Dark Silver is by FAR the most popular S color...at least at my MINI dealer in NJ. Everytime I am there, I see at least 5 dark silvers. Except, usually, they have white roofs. I was there on 8/28 and there were about 20 MINIs there. 9 were dark silver and 6 had white roofs! Two had black roofs and one was body-colored. The only thing I don't like about the DS/White is that most of the MINIs at my dealer seem to have this combo. However, even though I am only about 20 minutes from my dealer, I have never seen a DS.white on the road yet.

Congratulations! You must be on Cloud 9.........if I had just picked mine up
I'd probably forget about Jeff (a biochemist)! If you let me know what day, I'll alert my bro ahead of time. My mini arrived in New York today and the dealer says it's about 10 days after landing to delivery. I'm more excited every day. Thanks again.

And I remember when screens were all black with amber letters.
Then we thought it was cool to have green letters.
Then we thought it was cooler to have white letters.

And then we pondered modems!

Herby, did it really? I just got off the phoone with ASK MINI and they told me it would be 8/30 now. I asked why there was another delay and she told me it is usually 13 days at sea and since it left on the 21st it was WAY ahead of schedual if it were here today...is she just feeding me a line of bull in an effort to burst my MINI bubble? Please tell me she was wrong!

I am also addicted to driving my mini!! My wife cannot understand why I need to go out and get gas every day??!! She also doesn't know why it takes two hours to get gas as the local gas station is minutes away. I think I have used up all of my excuses. Any suggestions??
