Dude YOUR pathetic for posting this and I hope it gets pulled out of here! People that have handicapped children would not appreciate this! P.S. Removed his original offensive pictures.

And your quoting of the post just put the pictures up an additional time...does that mean that you're now pathetic and insensitive too?

guys, first off, it is the internet, let's not be overly sensitive. Stop picking on each other and discuss the topic at hand, your discontent with PU.

I will not lock it down, but I ask 2 things,

1. Have a sense of humor
2. Don't be overly sensitive, or politically correct

It is the interwebnetz...my new favorite word...so that picture can be seen everywhere, I think we need to relax and just have fun and not be so critical of each other. We all love MINIs, we have that in common. If you are offended, I am sorry, but the net is full of offensive things.

I don't feel this is a moderation issue...but thank you for reporting this to the team. handle it amongst yourselves and grow up

absolutely poor taste

Dopamine - I'm calling you out. Not as an admin, not as a moderator - but as a human being. Posting the picture of a Downs Syndrome child with the caption you used is unconscionable. But for a few extra chromosomes - there runs you. I have meet dogs I didn't like. I have been in the company of cats that were unmanageable. But I've never met a Downs Syndrome child that wasn't instantly lovable.

I unfortunately know a number of families with Downs Syndrome children and yes they can be a burden - but we all have to live with the hand we were dealt. I have never seen a family with a Downs Syndrome child that was not completely and totally loved.

I know your reply is going to be "whatta you want - I'm from New York" well - your post offends just about everyone in New York, the US, the world and the human race.

You are way beyond disgust

I understand that this stuff can be seen "on the internet" but i'm hoping NAM can be a place of refuge for distasteful content. There are other MINI fourms where this kind of junk can be posted! Also i'm definitly not into political correctness and this was not funny!

That is true, but when you consider the 40K plus membership, it is not fare to restrict that level of freedom.

I can also appreciate your point, and I value your opinion.

Like many have said, this place brings in a LARGE variety of personalities, and we all have to get along, showing tolerance for each other, and accepting that people have the right to post certain things, which some may find distasteful.

The nature of the beast, with something this large, there will be a certain amount of distasteful comments. When you have a thread title such as this, you can expect that things will get heated, so I would say use your better judgment and chose what you want to read or view.

My style, I am somewhat of a "rubber-necker", I like to see the carnage on the road of an accident...so I read some of the crap threads, the heated threads just for fun, knowing that it will get nasty. Most of the time, I chose to by pass the threads and just look for what I want to read.

Now as a moderator, that view has to change a bit, but 90% of the time, I am on here as a member, and I am smart enough to avoid the crap I don't want to see, there are plenty of other threads that are not like this, you can simply avoid it. It is a small percentage of the overall environment, and with numbers as large as we are, it is to be expected, and almost unavoidable.

I personally don't want to take away anyone's freedom, but also know there has to be a certain code of conduct...but without those who do the finger pointing. That code should be self managed, we are all adults, and sometimes we might like a little off colored humor.

I'll have to chime in here. The "place of refuge for distasteful content" can be taken in many ways. I'm all for free speech and virtually anything could be offensive to someone else. Forum names could be offensive to me.. does that mean that you should change your forum name because I think it's offensive?

I'm positive that Dop didn't create that image. Was his posting in bad taste?.. to some/a lot of people, yes.

This is a voluntary forum and thread. If anyone is offended, try a different website or just a different thread and turn on your "parental" filter in your web browser. No one is making you read, or look at, these words or pictures.

Now where were we?.. Ahh yes.. Palo Uber!.. Flame On!

EDIT:
Amen 03Indigo!

So tell us how far off, off coloured goes? Does it included gay bashing, child and wife abuse, dog fighting, rape jokes, just so a point can be made "in fun".

Also explain what grow up means, to what age, 6 year olds, 12 year olds. There needs to be some limit put on what and how people say things, it's just like the real world out there I keep hearing about.

I appreciate your response. And I realize this is the USA and we are free to say what we would like, but we are free to finger point and give our "free speech" side also .
