Pulling while braking...

I just got new rims and tires from tirerack, and since i dont have a torque wrench i had them professionaly put on,
i immediatly noticed that the car still pulled to the right under and kind of braking, i check the tire pressure and one tire was two lbs over so i evened them out and it worked for the rest of teh trip and then it started again.
Is this actually a problem with my MINI or do i just have bad luck with defective tires?

It is an 06 MCS btw, sep 05 build

Make sure your tires are on the right way around. Some tread patterns must face the correct direction.

Make sure you don't have a slow leak.

Check your brake pads for uneven wear.

Having a tire "profesionally" put on basically means they will drive the lug bolt with an impact wrench until it stops turning. I am willing to be all your wheels have been over torqued.

It always pulled? Then you need a front end alignment. How does the car track, hands off the steering wheel, middle of the highway, not following the crown of the road or tramlining?

Tis true about torque. Our MCC just got new front tires. The sales receipt actually had the make/model and torque specs listed, which really impressed me. Woulda been great if they had actually followed the specs though ; )

I re-torqued all the lugs at home--some were pretty loose, and some required me to stand on the lug wrench to break them free!

see thats the weird thing itll follow the road perfectly while i let the wheel go put the slightest bit of pressure on the brake pedal makes it turn to the right, and its a lot worse when i brake hard at high speeds

If it only happens under braking, it's not wheel alignment or wheel torque.

The braking is not applying evenly. So something on one side of the braking system is either restricting fluid flow, or allowing too much through. Possible defect in a caliper or even the master cylinder.

Dealer visit in your future.

Do the new wheels require a hubcentric ring? If so make sure it is the correct size.

Just had a thought. Are you hearing any kind of clunk from the suspension when you brake?

no theres no clunk or anything but the first time it happened i was coming off a speed bump at ten miles an hour and i thought i had hit my muffler

btw everyone that is the second problem that just developed today, every time i hit the slightest bump with ppl in the car the back tires hit the wheel wells, my cousin who works at a dealer in boston thinks it could be a failing suspension system

I agree, if the car is tracking true while driving, its not an alignment but probably a brake problem.

If there back tires are hitting the wheel wheels, it could be two things:

1. Tell them to loose weight

2. Push down on the back to see the shock travel. Could be shocks going bad.

don't forget about the A-arm bushings...depending on how hard you've been driving, they go bad pretty quickly.
My car gets squirley like that especially during hard braking.

definitely sounds like bad brakes, my RX7 used to do that when the pads wore down on one side, due to uneven pressure. Any competent tire/brake shop should be able to fix it;if under warranty, by all means see the dealer.

yea so i finally got my car to the dealer and got it back today, apparently i was low on brake fluid and it wasnt being distributed evenly which is why it was pulling, and apparently its stopped because they topped off the brake fluid
