Honda S2000 antenna works well and can be bought from a local source (honda dealer). Also has great reception.

I'm doing a small run of them now. I have a few dark silver (instead of black)
in the works now. R53s & R56s. I'm looking into doing popular MINI colors including white roof and black. These will be 1/2 dia. and have a polished aluminum tip. Also considering solid polished aluminum. Prices are up in the air still, but hoping to keep around $30.00 shipped.
Did a titanuim one that could be offerd as well?? (not $30.)

Colors are ok, but you'll have to do something with the mount itself since that will be black still. Now if there was a total color matched package that would be pretty sweet.

Only way around that is if I can paint the stock mount. Mine is already black
so it looks good. Interesting senerio... My stock base just pops off... may be able to offer a color matched base? Person would be without till painted but it is possible... This is on the R53 not too familiar with R56. Have a person in the area I'm working with and get more info!

Hmmm... if the base just pops off it might be pretty easy to color match it. Maybe offer a "core exchange" and jst paint them to order.
I've used these folks to get paint for motorcycles. I see they are offering car paint now also. http://www.color-rite.com/
Pretty inexpensive with great results.

I found no negative issues (except maybe losing some of the far-off, staticky stations) from the DIY stubby -- otherwise known as cutting the wire section of the OEM antenna with wire cutters. . . just leave about 1/4" of it and re-attach the rubber top:
