Headliner replacement, need advice

I took my MCS 06 in for the "spa" cleaning service, and when I got it back I found the headliner sagging in one spot (right over one of the backseat side windows). Seems like maybe they used a vaccuum to clean it, and it got bent a tad downwards in the process. It's not sagging super-badly, just enough to be noticeable basically, but it does annoy me... especially since it was in perfect condition when I dropped it off with them.

The dealer had a look & said that it's easiest just to replace it (!!!).
They're covering the cost, so it's no skin off my back, but it sounds like a major involved job -- I'm wondering if the cure could be worse than the problem, as I'm worried about the risk that they damage something else in the process of doing the swap... or introducing new creaks/rattiles... or who knows what. I do also find it hard to believe that this is indeed easier than just trying to bend it back into shape.

What do you guys think -- am I being paranoid & should I just let them do it, or am I best off accepting the sag rather than have them disassemble/reassemble my car?

well here is a few answers for you

the headliner is not that hard to replace

secondly if the dealership is going to replace it free of charge then do it, and if it does somehow create more problems that you speak of then they are liable to fix those too

removing a headliner is really not difficult so i say let em do it

+1
Anytime the dealer wants to replace something fee of charge just do it. Replacement is better than a "FIX"

Can you get the much-saught-after "anthrcite" headliner in the process? Consider your options... I'd say let 'em do it, esp. if the shop is standing by their work and making it right.
