Yesterday my car went into " scheduled for production" status. How long is the wait now before I get to drive my little bugger?

Hmmm...mine has taken about 5 weeks so far and I'm estimated delivery is in 2 more weeks...it just really depends. I'd say about 4-5 weeks after your production date depending on your coast and things...don''t worry, we'll help you get through the anxious waiting

Mine came in exactly 7 weeks from production date. Seemed like forever. It is hard to believe I've only had the car for 14 weeks, but whose counting? Dig through this site, you will see alot of questions and answers to almost anything you can think of about the MINI. There is also a lot of support for those in waiting.

I am just a pay check or two before I give my deposit to order my Mini, and my questions about how long it takes when you get a "start production" date with all of you cool peoples posts. My new question is how long does it take to get a "start production" date after I pay my deposit and order my Dark Silver S w/white top, all 3 packages and the sunroof.

I think this depends almost entirely on your dealer. This subject comes up on many threads on this forum, but basically it seems that different dealers have different allocations of orders they may submit. When your order gets submitted -- which certainly wouldn't occur until after you've placed a deposit with the dealer -- depends on how many other orders your dealer is submitting AND how many total orders they have remaining in their allocation.

This may draw some flack from those among the car-dealer-friendly readship of this forum, but I think that your biggest challenge will be in figuring out if you're getting a straight story from your dealer/salesperson. It wouldn't be beyond the range of possibility that a dealer would take your deposit for an order that s/he couldn't place for many months. In effect, that's what dealers are doing that are giving people 6 + month delivery dates. If you don't mind waiting, fine...otherwise, you could call around and find a dealer that has a larger allocation and/or hasn't sold as much of their allocation. Check the dealer ratings thread for an insight into this issue.

It really depends on your dealers waiting list. Your dealer should be able to tell you this info. As this info varies from dealer to dealer.

LOL this is kind of funny. All you people talking about "when I'm expecting the baby" (meaning the Mini).

I feel like your friends need to throw you all Mini Showers or something.
