wheel balance

it feels like one of my wheels has gone out of balance, and when inspecting my right rear wheel i can see an area where it appears there was formerly a balance weight. The lack of balance really isnt even that bad; MINOR thrumming and wheel shake between about 45 and 60 miles per hour. I havent had time to get it balanced and have probably driven about 500 miles with it like this, and will probably have to drive another 500 until i am able to find time. By that time itll only be about 1500 miles until i need to rotate anyways.

My question is by driving the car like this am i really harming the vehicle; if so i will make time to fix the problem, but if im not it seems like itd be easier to live with the discomfort of minor steering wheel shake until i need to get the tires taken off ot be rotated. any input?

You are not doing your Mini any good... That vibration is wearing on your suspension and drive line parts. best bet... Get that sucker balanced right away!

Yeah, its best to get it taken care of quickly. That vibration resonates through everything. A place that does flat tire repair could take care of in 10 minutes if you have the time.

agreed. just about anywhere could probably do it in about 10 mins. maybe 20 with the courtesy check.

These are 3 words coming from someone who used to work in a few dealerships and a full repair gas station: sticky weights suck.
