R50/53 MINI Motoring Advisor ?
D,
Congrats on the new job. I hope you enjoy the new path you've taken.
I am curious about one thing. Are you on oxygen like Christopher Reeve?
You almost...always type...with pauses.
I imagine you selling MINI's:
Can I tell you ... [tsshht] about the MINI's [tshhht]? They were ... [tshhht] originally built in ... England.
Just kidding around, D.
Best wishes,
JS

i dunno... maybe its cause im a young girl but they give me so much bull.. the delivery of my car was crap.. and it had dents and scratches on it when we picked it up.. and i think they knew it and were trying to rush me out of there asap.... i ordered the alarm system and we were told that we'd get two keys with buttons but we didnt and had to order a new key and the floormats and car cover that i ordered hadnt come in yet.. but they fixed most of it... there are still two sratches that have not been fixed... i just didnt get good service..
also, i had my windsheild replaced there once and when i got my car back there was a huge chunk of plastic missing from the door panel... just stupid crap.. i've been back there so many times and its not cause of my car its cause of them.
when i was looking to trade my car in and get an S i had annalisa and steve and steve was just talking to me like i was stupid... i didnt appreciate it.. but i also think the people at habberstad are sketchy too..... but i wont get into that...
anyway dennis.... i hope that you do well there, maybe it was only me who had problems with them. i'm bringing my car there in about a week to have some stuff fixed... so i'll stop by and say hello. do you by any chance know if they do software upgrades?

Car sales can be a high pressure job, higher stress than the average profession. However, if you love the product, and the dynamics of the team members you'll be working with, I think it sounds like a great opportunity. You've certainly been a very active member on MCO and your passion comes through in your emails, what the heck, some of the best opportunities in life come along when you least expect it. Go for it buddy and when you learn all the tricks of the trade, fill us all in so we can become better negotiators on our next Mini purchase. If I were in your position with time on my hands I would certainly give it try. Keep us inform of your progress.
D,
Looks like I'm a little late to this party. Congrats on your decision and best wishes on success!
I was in a not-so-different situation as you just about a month ago. I was the Technology Manager for 3 regional offices of an International firm then suddenly found myself unemployed. After some months of unemployment, I was presented with the opportunity to become a Motoring Advisor - I wrestled with such a big change, especially not having any prior sales experience. ...but I too jumped in!
).
2. The schedule - long hours and working on Saturdays is really tough to get used to after a relatively normal corporate schedule of 40-50 M-F hours. (Also witness my drastically reduced attendance here on MCO!)
But, I also get a real high from working with people and getting to know them. You will meet a handful of folks you wish you never had, but you will work with a lot of really nice, cool folks that you'll be very glad you had the opportunity to meet!
I quickly forget about the pressures and the frustrations of the job when I'm talking with a customer who is excited to hear about the car! If I figure out how to remedy #1 and #2, I might even consider sticking with this!
Again, congratulations and best of luck in your new position!

Looks like I found this thread late, but not too late to say "happy first day at MINI!!"
D, you treat everyone here on MCO with respect, you always have a kind word, and you sign out with peace. You're gonna be an awesome MMA. Congratulations.
