So when can we all do a track day?
according to TC's web site, Snell 1980 or newer. It does not specify M or SA ratings. M - motorcycle, SA - Specail Applications (I think).
I looked up the difference from M and SA, it seems the biggest difference is that the SA's have to pass a fire test.

Most if not all of the local clubs allow motorcycle helmets but most of them require a Snell 2000 rated helmet as of last year. I started out using a motorcross helmet but bought a new helmet last year due to the rating change.
I had a great time and recieved some great education - there were some great drivers out there and some great cars too. That BRG justacooper was really eating up the corners and kickin some butt. I have a lot to learn but think I made some progress by the end of the day. Ill definately do the team continental session again, for now im eyeing the May track day with the Bmw club.

Thanks man you did some excellent drinving as well, I should know, I was chasing you all day!
I learned a lot and like everyone there could always learn more. I really want to do another one.
for giggles... my last track day pic... actaully I think that's the wife driving...

About to get passed... there's only so much you can do in front of an M3...basically get out of the way.

Nope, just the insructor.
Watch out for the M3's if they know what they are doing!

That's me at the wheel and a guy with too much hp under his right foot in an M3. Could not keep it in the line in the turns. I missed them a lot as well. But I was given the flag to pass him twice. Not sure why, he easily took me in the straights.

So I got my first track day with the Lotus group and had a blast. The mini was great. I got to pass some Lotus Elise and some Honda 2000. No issues with the stock fluid of rotors. Tires held up very well. I highly recomend it for any one that is thinking about it. Unfortunaltelly the lotus group will not have another event this season other than with bikes which I have been doing for over 3 years.
Cheers,

So is anyone else going to do the May 7th BMW day?
The Lotus club has another one scheduled for May 25th.
The Cascade Sports Car club has a date on June 14 & 15 also....anyone interested in that one?

Good idea, Scott. I'll add that to the update I am doing tonight...
