Introduction

Just picked up a 2011 S yesterday and am browsing the Mini forums. I'm a long time member of the BMW and S2000 Community and traded the BMW in for the Mini. Hope to see some of you out there. How active is this community in Seattle?

Nice! Welcome!

What part of Seattle are you from? I'm from the Bothell/Woodinville area, waiting for my Countryman to arrive.

There is the Puget Sound Motoring Club/, that is a Puget Sound club, but most of the stuff they do is down south towards Tacoma.

I'm in Shoreline/Richmond Beach. There aren't any active groups up in our area?

PS MINI seems to be the only one I've found, but their boards are definitely not as active as the NAM board and the few events they seem to do usually are outside the Seattle area.

Could be wrong, but...

Things do get a bit sleepy over at PSMINI during the winter months, but during the summer it picks up dramatically. I would call PSMINI Seattle based, but our events happen all over the Puget Sound area. We've got active members all the way from Bellingham down to Tacoma and even Olympia.

Sure, many of our events take place outside of the immediate Seattle area, but that's where the fun roads are! There was a breakfast/drive this spring in the North Kitsap area, we are participating in the Tulip Rallye in the Burlington/La Conner area in April, I'm going to toss a shout out for "Return To This Is Stonehenge Again" in Eastern Washington in June along with lots of parade participation. Sure, we do lots of stuff outside of the immediate King County area, but that doesn't mean the club isn't based in the central Puget Sound area.

There is another MINI club who's name I forget right now, but they are the club that is based more in the south Puget Sound region.

Will the events be posted here? We do drives all over with the S2000 and NSX clubs. Looking forward to meeting some local members and seeing different cars/mods.

Glad to hear things will pick up! I'm anxious to meet other MINI owners in the area!

I actually joined up a couple weeks ago - looking forward to the Leavenworth trip (I've always wanted to go-never been).

Are there ever any casual meet ups? Like everyone meets somewhere for food and/or drinks and just hang out? When I was in a Mazda club way back when, there were usually one or two a month. What is kind of the age range of people in the club? I'm a younger MINI owner (26) and while I'm sure I'll get along with anyone who grins when they see a MINI, I'm more curious than anything.

See you out there!

Probably not- your best bet is to register at PSMINI.org and follow the action there. It's free to register; dues to actually join the club (to support the club and to actually get discounts and such) are $25 a year. Come on! We won't bite!

Seriously, the planning threads for actual drives get pretty long. Cross posting to NAM would just get too time consuming.

More casual things definitely do happen- meeting up for coffee and or donuts happens quite a bit.
