I may buy a Yamaha...
Powered Taurus, that is. My friend at work may be selling his 91 Pearl White SHO. High flow y-pipe, stainless exhaust that sounds beastly, rod shifter conversion, Cobra MAF sensor, Tokiko's, Eibach's, black leather, moonroof, climate control. So on and so on. The car looks like a monster too. That boxy style of those is nasty hot. It has a 100k+ and needs a clutch that he has. His GF wants him to sell it and he says if he does, he'll prolly want a grand. He tells me the clutch is pain the azz even for a SHO nut like him, so thats the big obstacle. But, even if it costs me another couple hundred to get that installed, so what? It would be a blast to drive.
Check motor mounts...
That's what I was driving prior to the MINI. I had 190K on mine with relatively few problems. Engine was a beast for only 3.0l but with the handling, no matter what you do, it's still a 4,000 lb Ford. Oh, and check the motor mounts, they're notorious for breaking them. I replaced mine with after-market units. Much nicer and stronger. That clutch, even when new will definitely give you a workout. It's kind of like having a leg press in the car with you. That said, mine was a great car and I hated to give it up.
We had a silver 93 SHO automatic when new. It was a real Q ship. Nobody noticed it and it was a long-legged runner. Get it.

My 2nd car was a silver '92. I still miss that car. I'd pop the hood and spend the afternoon just gazing at those intake runners. As fantastic as the engine was, the rest of the car was definitely a Ford, though. Squeaky interior, lousy brakes, bum electrics (especially the electronic climate controls).
If you're keeping it a while, you might want to source a couple of extra clutches. They're a custom unit made by Valeo and used on no other Ford car. The previous owner of mine was gentle and I had to replace the first clutch at 113k, but its pretty common for people to replace every 40-50k.
I set a personal record in my SHO. Four of us made it from San Antonio, TX to Champaign, IL in, well, don't want to get the thread locked, but it was quick.
EDIT: I completely forgot, my username was the license plate on that car. AgBul8 = Silver Bullet.
