Little did that driver realize he was in line for the Pullet Surprise.

Well, okay, that was 'reaching'...

Does anybody have the translation of the story? I mean there is one glaring question that you have all blatantly ignored thus far...

Why did the chicken cross the road

*sound of crickets chirping*

Probably from the aircraft windscreen/canopy testing thing.

As for why did the chicken cross the road, perhaps this is why the joke never starts off with "why did the chicken cross the Autobahn".

Ah, the Autobahn. Seeing those Porsches run at mid triple digits with such ease... it's like poultry in motion...

HEY! Lemme go! I know where the door is and can use it without assistance!

He should have been feathering the brake. But I'm glad it was a poultry...err...paltry amount of damage to the car.

(Darn it, Greatbear beat me to the poultry pun)

I try to keep a-breast of 'em. That is, I try and keep a leg up on this sort of thing. Then again, sometimes I just wing it.

Reminds me of a car we had towed into the shop one time. Seems some kids had been out driving around farm country at night, no lights, and came upon a cow walking the same direction in the road. Car went under cow, cow slid up hood (dirty parts first), cow went thru windshield and let loose a load of SURPRISE! all over the interior. We had it towed back out.

I remember once playing Jackrabbit baseball in my MGB going across Nevada on I-80 at night! The dang things would be sitting on the side of the road, and they'd leap at the headlamps. I had wire stoneguards over the headlamps.

Whap!

It's could be! It looks long enough! It's outta here!

I had a bird hit my fogs one time on the Interstate up in WY. NOT a pretty sight.

Try hitting a roadrunner some time ... those things are HARD to catch

The worst are the stupid birds on I90 in MT. They sit on the side of the road, waiting for car to come by and swoop UP in front of you to get lift. Needless to say ... some dont make it

Ran over a pigeon once on the freeway. It was walking in the middle of the offramp. Ran right over the top of it. All I saw in the rear view mirror were feathers. A blizzard of feathers.

The only real road kill we see around here now is deer ... they make a REAL mess as in by bye car

I kind of miss the little bits of roadkill you could pickup and take to the local Road Kill Cafe for a few bucks and make some money.

Wabbits are always good and possum.

Chows, go to CNN website, and check out Deer Gone Wild. Watch the Chow vs Deer at the end.

I know I could convince the CA F&G to export some cougars to the east.
