wha-? My dealer here got another truckload of R56s while I was there last night, I saw them come in. They must have 12-15 (unsold R56s!) and yet your's is still lounging at the VPC? Do you think they are fixing something? I know you've seen the VPC video

Freakin' huge, though. I can't believe that's what the 3 series has become. I wonder how many years back that was the size of the 5 series? I bet less than 10. Time to bring that 1 series over here! Once they bloat that one up to the size of the current 3 series (by which time the 7 series will be 24 feet long), I guess the next small car they introduce will have to be a -1 series.

Nope, guess again. A 1991 BMW E34 M5 measured 186" long by 69" wide by 56" high and weighed 3800 lbs. A new BMW 335i measures 180" long by 70" wide by 54" high and weighs 3560 lbs. The 3-series still has a ways to go before it gets to the size of a 5-series.

wow, all this time i thought you got a AT, but you got a MT.

VERY nice. how is the clutch? does it engage close to
the floor like on our MCS's? is it heavy at all?

Only MTs for me!

No, not like the MCS at all... took some getting used to, actually. The clutch is much softer, and it was actually difficult at first to locate the real friction point... It does feel very, very nice, but in a totally different way- much easier and more refined feeling. Endless ultra smooth power at any rpm in any gear.

After driving the 335 for a few days I drove the MCS again, and was actually surprised at how stiff the clutch was and how exactly notchy the gears felt. The MCS requires more from the driver IMO, and is very raw in comparison, but I wouldn't say that's a bad thing at all I truly like them both very much

The sport seats in the 3 are extremely compfortable, and somehow you can both feel the road surface very clearly but it's muted so there's no jarring or discompfort in the process at all. In the MCS I've felt the road try to wrestle the steering wheel away from me at times, but that would never happen in the 3.

Also, I'm constantly pleased by all the small thoughtful details I notice while operating the 3. It's a great car.
