Hey great car. I think I will be getting one soon. A buddy of mine got one in Eurpoe. He said the car is easliy generating 340hp. Just wait for Dinan to come out with parts. By the way UKSUV, my drive way looks alot like yours except subsitute the VW for a silve Cayene

Thanks

Did you buy the Porsche new? ie how has the dealer/quality experience been? I seriously considered selling the MINI as well and going for a Cayman S... but it's wierd to think about being MINI-less (no more Dragon-!?! )

I'm pretty sure this is my last MINI though.. so in 2-3 years I'll probably let both the BMW and the MINI go and get one high end ($60k-$70k) car... maybe a Porsche or maybe stay with BMW and get a Z4M coupe. I actually looked at the Z4c 3.0Si, but they were really unwilling to deal (on the coupe, not the roadster), and I would've had to let the MINI go to afford even that. I'm actually leasing the 335 which cuts several hundred off the payment, and that's the only reason I can afford both now...

Beautiful cars, and as fast as the last gen M3's. One note: I was at VIR in September, and there were 2 of them there. Both were going into limp because of high oil temps. I don't know if it was an early glitch, or what, but they got very hot when hammered.

Actually just last night I saw it posted on another forum that there are a few engine issues cropping up fairly early on the 335s TT.......I'll post back with a link later.........

That was a hypothetical seizure based upon me turning in the MCSc for a Cayman S or Z4Mcpe (which I'm not ready to do yet!)

Congrats on the new ride! I test drove one several times! I was excited about this car except for a couple of areas.. There is no limited slip diff available.. I can't for the life of me figure out why... except for stealing too many sales away from the M3.
There is some off-idle lag.. the turbos are small and spin up quick.. but right at off-idle.. it hesitates..
It is also lacking headroom for those over 6'2.. This is a fine sedan for sure.. should be alot of fun on the street... Hopefully it will be reliable... as twin turbos sure do complicate things.. you can't even see the turbos from the top.. they are buried in there.

probably not a car to own out of warranty, that's for sure- but that sure hasn't been an issue with me lately my record for the last 6 years is 22 months with an 05 Hyper Blue MCS!! 7 cars going on 8....

yes, but somehow it wouldn't be quite the same I think.... isn't it odd that the prospect of leaving the 'Fellowship of the MINI' weighs in so much in deciding what car to own next? I'm not in for a R56 sadly.... it just doesn't grab me like the R53, but at the same time I just can't leave....

Actually, I hate to say this cause the Legions of the Faithful may not like it but all kinds of car groups hit the Dragon ... It aint just a MINI thing. While MINI may have the MOST cars at one time, some ppl seems to thing thats a huge detriment to their enjoyment

I would never let a single outing be a decision factor on what car to buy

Have fun in that 335i. I read nothing but good things about it

Except for the p-cars. Dunno what it is about them, must be the snobbery amongs the Iconists. Lots of the lessor siblings have been there and had great reports. However, nobody willing to start a weekend... I blame it on the Iconists who dont want to mingle with the riff-raff

BTW, 335i problems? http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=163972

I tried a google of it once even and turned up some stuff on it too - but I'll bet the forums have more info. Other then that I'll refrain from saying anything about my take on the car except 'good luck and enjoy it' BartMack

As for the Dragon, yes it seems like every group has their thing there, including motorcycles.

PS: Funny, I still have the limited edition poster akin to those drawings that BMW sent out to the first E46 owners.

I blame it the fact that you Porchwagen owners know that you'll get owned in the twisties if a Mini shows up......

BTW: There's another forum where this came up and they blamed it on the Audi-philes trying to make the Men of the Roundel look bad........

I agree.. all quite worthless but entertaining..! I loved the one "turbo" expert claiming that it wasn't broke in right and turbo motors are "different".. good stuff.
