This is a pretty amazing video. Oh, and full of not-so-smart people.
Kids, please don't do this--ever.
As for the adults,
Sorry, I have removed the link. I forgot...It was related to street racing.

It aint like it used to be with the cannonball in the old days
I would have love to run that but I would have been a wee lad
Besides, I like the two ladies in the White Lambo in the movie best!

Oh, does it matter? I thought if it was street racing at all, it was history...

I believe if its conducted where the speed is legal, like the autobahn (or Nevada or Montana prior to 1973
) then its OK.
Now if it was on say I95 from Florida to Maine, then

Ohh thats right. I forgot about that. Well, if they weren't swerving between construction cones and out running the popo, I'd put it back up.

That "could be" the one they run in the US thats pretty much sanctioned and run with celebraties but they didnt look like celebraties to me.
In any case ... caution is wise

Is this the race that costs something like $7000 to participate? It says it is ran in 13 different countries.
I am pretty sure one of the legs is run somewhere in the US. The police officers voice in the video sounded pretty American to me .

Wasn't there a race in Arizona or someplace out there where they closed a public road and did some top speed runs? I seem to remember reading about that.

Yes...I believe someone in Ferrari died during the event too
...or perhaps I am thinking of something else.\
But, if I remember correctly, the event you are talking about took place in The Middle of Nowhere, Arizona on some desert road. They closed off a couple miles of highway and had some highend exotic cars basically driving as fast as they could. They also had some policemen there with radar guns recording top speeds
.

Silver state classic ... just google it. A MINI always wins its section ... 105 mph I believe. All legal
There is another in TX and another in Nebraska. All legal

Same here. Oh well, just youtube "gumball" I'm sure you;ll find something.
There are several races in the South Western US that are legal where oradsa re shut down and HAMs link the race line of sight to coordinate saftey crews and PD clock cars. It's called Open Road Racing its legal and happens a few times between Sept. through Oct. or Nov. They had an MCS clocked at 164 MPH in one of them.
